About the Event

Coping with Covid: Balancing the Trauma with Resilience

We are ALL feeling the stress and the isolation of the Covid-19 pandemic and many have faced losses.  Losses of jobs and financial stability,  losses of connection with friends and our community and loss of certainty about the future.  Many people have experienced acute stress and some are at increased risk of PTSD and even suicide.   This presentation will address the impact of the crisis on individuals, families and the community.  We will also focus on the elements that support resilience during times of stress.

Join us along with featured speaker, Greg Marley, LCSW Clinical Director NAMI Maine.

Greg Marley has practiced in the field of community mental health and prevention in Maine for over 25 years, as a clinician, clinical supervisor, manager and consultant.  Since 2007, he has developed and presented training and education supporting the needs of a diverse set of statewide partners in suicide prevention and systems integration of prevention activities.  Greg has presented across Maine and New England to a variety of audiences in suicide prevention, substance abuse prevention, mental health and other topics. Since 2013 he has worked closely with schools, primary care practices, hospitals, and mental health programs to support the development and integration of protocols and processes integrating suicide prevention and management.

This event is live and will be recorded. You can watch it and interact with the speakers, via our moderator, Lesley Fernow, using the chat boxes provided by Zoom and Facebook.
