About the Event

Our Common Purpose identifies six strategies which will be discussed in detail on the first Thursday of the month, these include: Achieving equality of voice and representation through our political institutions, Empowering voters in lasting ways, Ensuring responsiveness of our political institutions, Expanding the capacity of civil society organizations that foster ‘bridging’ across lines of difference, Building civic information architecture that supports common purpose and Inspiring a culture of commitment to American constitutional democracy and one another.

We are grateful and excited to welcome Carole Lukensmeyer as the facilitator for this introductory conversation. Dr. Lukensmeyer previously served as Founder and President of AmericaSpeaks, an award-winning nonprofit organization that promoted nonpartisan initiatives to engage citizens and leaders through the development of innovative public policy tools and strategies. During her tenure, AmericaSpeaks engaged more than 200,000 people and hosted events across all 50 states and throughout the world.
