About the Event

Since 1898, the library has served as a gateway to community history and identity, a resource for opportunities and education and a force for new ideas and perspectives. We are interested in documenting Dover-Foxcroft’s unique history through interviewing its residents.

Our program has been working closely with Oral History and Folklife Research, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the stories, recollections and voices of Maine people, events and movements. Our team has strongly recommended that we get in touch with you to record your unique perspective on the history and legacy of Dover-Foxcroft and the surrounding area.

Interviews are recorded in digital audio using high-quality recorders and professional microphones. A basic transcript is produced, then, reviewed for accuracy by a staff member. The material discussed in the interview is verified and clarified through annotations to the greatest extent possible.
